are complaining that recent government activity in close proximity to the Department of Natural Reserves at the State Fair Grounds is responsible for the rash of unexplained phenomena and other incidents in the area. However, representatives from the military have steadfastly denied any connection to the strange goings-on.

As reported earlier last week, the historic graveyard site within the DNR has been subject to a number of unsettling events, including apparent grave robberies. No less than four graves were found to be disturbed, with coffins opened and corpses missing.

Additional disturbances include reported contamination of the area's water supply, as well as reports of strange lights and noises coming from the DNR.

"They done fouled up the swamp and the old crickbed," complained a longtime resident, only identified as 'Gramps.' "Ever since them government folk been pokin' their noses around, there's been a weird glow and funny smells from up on yonder. I don't know what they're doin' but I sure wish they would stop so's things could get back to normal!"

"I have no knowledge of any operation in the area of the DNR," said Col. Robert Nanni in a news conference held this morning. "I'm not saying that I have plausible deniability - I honestly don't know what you're talking about. Nothing we are involved in could be resulting in the kind of strange events that are being reported.
