Haunted Hearse

We'd like you to meet Patty R. Hearse.

Patty is our 1956 Cadillac Hearse and she'd like to think she's the star of Hauntfest.

We picked Patty up from a salvage yard in Plainfield, Wisconsin where she'd been sitting since the mid 1960's.

Legend has it, Patty is the very same coach that was used to transport some of the victims of cannibal killer Ed Gein to their final resting place.

Ever since we got Patty home, a number of strange, unexplainable things have happened.

A mechanic who was working on Patty's brakes left her on jack stands only to find her off of them the next morning.

Windshield wipers, interior lights and the radio will inexplicably turn on and off.

A worker who was closing the garage alone one evening swears the horn honked a number of times... even though the switch to the horn is broken.

On another occasion, Patty was being towed behind one of our service vehicles. One person was driving the tow car while another (we'll just call him 'Q') was stuck with the daunting task of steering the old girl.

With the ignition key off and automatic transmission in neutral, her engine roared to life - all by itself.

We have absolutely no doubt that there are unseen forces at work.

On the morning of July 13 2004, while taking pictures of Patty for the insurance company, we captured what appears to be a ghost at the steering wheel.
